BREAKING: Border Patrol agents who killed gunman at Texas school became frustrated and acted on their own initiative after being told to wait by local police - NBC

So this would have gone on even longer if it weren’t for the hero. If it weren’t for the hero, this could have gone on for hours. Honestly, some heads need to literally roll for this.

An off duty border control agent who had enough of this shite from the cowards and killed the shooter.

I was trying to look up what has come out in news, and found a story of another off duty border agent who also showed up. His wife taught at the school, and his daughter went to the school. He helped lead team to evacuate some students.

quote:

Albarado leapt up from the barber's, grabbed the barber's shotgun, and drove straight to the school, where eight-year-old Jayda and her mother were inside

A tactical team was already readying to take the room where the gunman was barricaded, so Albarado began searching for his daughter and clearing rooms

Two officers provided cover, guns drawn, he said, and two others guided the children out on the sidewalk

Albarado's friend was the heroic CBP agent who entered the classroom where Salvador Ramos, 18, was holed up and shot him dead

…'Only time will heal their pain and hopefully changes will be made at all schools in the U.S. and teachers will be trained & allowed to carry in order to protect themselves and students.'

This is basically what I was saying on the previous page, this whole response was organized by local and state LEO. No federal agent or officer I've EVER met would stand idly by while this happened, which is what makes this so confusing and confounding to me.

I would like to know which jurisdiction had ultimate control of the site and the response, then pick the brain of the chief of that unit. I just can't imagine what he was thinking or what he was going for.

All credit goes to the BORTAC guys that took it into their own hands and made the play, because I sympathize with them a lot. I know if I was on scene, I would've done the same. Massive balls those guys had in that situation, but it was necessary

This is my thing. How could anyone stand outside the school and hear a rifle going off, knowing good and well that someone just died and not rush in to do something about it when you have a gun at your side?

And the kids are probably hugging the ground or if not, they’re pretty short compared to the shooter, so it shouldn’t take that much effort to hit the target without hitting kids in the process. Regardless, I can’t imagine standing outside hearing shots ring out and doing nothing about it. That would haunt me for the rest of my life, knowing I had the chance to end it and save lives and didn’t do anything.

Jurisdiction may have been controlled by the Independent School District (unique to Texas) police force, grand total of 6. FUBAR all around.

People yesterday thought I was being over the top demanding public executions for these cops, but I think people are now seeing the wisdom of this. These cowardly scumbags need to be made an example out of. The 19 outside the classroom for sure should face the death penalty especially since 19 kids died for their cowardice. Tar them in the media for months on end during the trial. Any of their superior officers that gave them the orders should be in the trial as well. Once pronounced guilty, take five of them at a time behind the court house and hang them. The living officers outside the school should be sued into an oblivion by the families and die in poverty.

We have to salt the earth with this police department as a warning to any others what will happen to them if they should do this horrific act of cowardice again. No one should ever forget this. While this may not have killed the most people, this is the most atrocious mass shooting in my lifetime. Just compare these officers to the NYPD and FDNY during 9/11. It’s unforgivable with the difference in those two events.

do away with the smaller departments and let the sheriffs department police these areas.

That makes sense. Sheriffs are elected and held accountable. The people can vote out the sheriff, they can't vote out the city police chief.

Yeah seems like someone could’ve gotten a shot on him through a window if nothing else.

Looks like they were waiting for the state police to show up with night vision gear in case the incident went into the wee hours...

Yes, that's from the actual event.

They will try to solve your murder. People need to accept that we have a duty to protect ourselves. The government will rush in acting tough against unarmed citizens gathering for dinner or church during a severe flu outbreak though.

Little kids were calling 911 beginning for help while the cops did nothing for much of this hour, while parents were begging the cops to go in or let them go in so some of those kids were clearly alive abs I understand you can literally hear some of them being murdered on the 911 calls at times where their parents were begging for action so we already know some children died while they hid in fear of a untrained idiot kid with an AR

He needed an hour of rehab in the air conditioned command trailer by the time he jogged the 50 yds to the perimeter. Glow-sticks at the ready too.

Channeling the Airsoft kid, but with a sweet pension as his goal instead of defeating some enemy.

One of the best paid LE agencies in my area is short staffed in every area. As long as they have the issues of being under funded and under staffed, this will continue.

You want a combat veteran to guard your kids school? Guess what, he’s making $40 /hr on a construction site because This is gonna go down as one of the biggest failures in law enforcement history
veterans get preferential treatment for jobs at every plant along the river.
