Imo, what has kept this team afloat is the management of the pitching staff. JJ and company have done a hell of a job with the limited # of trustworthy arms. How does he handle Hoover?

Wed - Floyd
Thursday - Hilliard
Saturday - Money
Sunday - Dutton

Obviously a lose will shake things up, but perfect scenario is this how the starters go?

Money isn’t and shouldn’t be getting a start. What happened to Taylor along the way?

Money might not make travel squad again.

Doesn't matter who pitches when you score 3 touchdowns every game.

You’re not throwing Floyd on short rest in the conference tournament. Hilliard-Floyd-who knows from that point forward.

I think Hilliard would probably go Wednesday in a days less rest rather than Floyd on 2 days less rest

Hilliard will go on Wednesday

If anyone is crying about a day early remember that he threw Friday against Ole Miss and came back on Thursday this week so he's fine on one less day. He's not a fireballer. He'll be fine throwing Wednesday.

Pitch the first 3 games (if LSU plays 3) like it's a weekend series. Anything after that you piece together.

Remember, weather will not be good in Hoover this week. My guess is we don’t play our first game until Thursday which should help with some extra rest.

My guess is pitch by committee Wednesday giving your starters one extra day of rest. Then you throw your weekend rotation.

We need our starters to stretch a little longer than what we’re accustomed to seeing(mainly our day 2-3 guys). That way we can have fresh pens throughout the tournament.

I think you stay with Hilliard, Floyd, Dutton. Use Taylor, Fontenot, Money as your LRP guys incase they are needed, and we know our back end of the bullpen guys.

If there’s a day 4 guy, it’s prolly gonna be Johnny Wholestaff. That’s when we’ll need guys like Edwards, Hellmers, and Collins to step up and give us quality innings, if they travel. If we get deep in the tournament, every arm will be used as some point, I guarantee it.

I would think that he goes with the regular weekend rotation. Not having to play Tuesday is huge. I think that’s part of the reason Jay used Reyzelman on Thursday, he thought he’d need him for an extended outing on Tuesday.

Guys like Vietmeier and Fowler will be huge this weekend. If they could give us 2-3 innings that would help tremendously.

This will be JJ’s first time coaching in a conference tournament since his days at Nevada

Hilliard on a fairly short leash Wednesday. And hey, you have no choice but to pull out all the stops to win the game you’re playing and let tomorrow take care of itself.

We win Wednesday and I think our deep bullpen starts to pay off in a tournament situation.
