Lots of good suggestions, but my thinking agrees w/ Downshift.
What kind of safety do you wan? How does the stock fit you? Do the gun point well naturally for you? Do you want a removable box magazine, blind magazine or hinged floor plate? Do you want the gun to have a nice butt pad? Is the trigger adjustable?
These are a few of the questions you need to answer to better know what gun you want.
ETA: Personally I'd first look at a Savage, using the savings to spend on optics and ammo. I think the 308 Win is a fine choice. Admittedly, I've never shot a Bergara, but it feels like it's replaced Tikka as the OB's official rifle.

got a Savage 110 long range hunter in 6.5-284 that I got for about $500. Really just got it to use as a barreled action for a chassis. At the smith now getting blueprinted, crowned, etc.
