The corked bat thing didn’t help either. He’s clearly a HOF talent, but his counting numbers aren’t good enough to overcome all the baggage. Would have been nice to see how he would have ended up if he hadn’t hurt his hip.

I knew he played at LSU, but was too young to see him play. (I probably did at the Box, but was too young to remember.) But besides Dale Murphy—my favorite player of all time—and Ronald Acuña Jr.—my favorite player now—and Barry Bonds from 2000-2005, Albert Belle is the only player I ever went out of my way to watch every AB on tv. He was so fricking good in his prime. And always looked pissed off, like he was offended the pitcher had the audacity to stand on the mound and pitch to him.
