As I said in another string, you can have an NIL system (with rules and regulations). You can also have a transfer portal system.

But, you cannot have both at the same time.


Even the NFL recognizes this with an overall salary cap, salary "slots" for rookies, and 3-5 year contracts for rookies. Imagine if top rookies could be free agents after one year. It would blow the f*ck out of every team's salary.
