re: Greensboro(NC) vs Akron(OH) vs Columbus(OH)

I know little of Greensboro other than it is in a growing state with good weather, I'd seriously consider it.

C-bus is nice. Akron is rust belt. If you don't work in steel or affiliated trades, don't bother. Although it's probably the cheapest of the three by far.

I know a guy that has a few acres in Sebring (nearby) and he likes it, but he's got a job that keeps him there. He'd probably be in Hilton Head otherwise.
