If you're going to use it as a grill more than as a smoker I'd get a Recteq Bullseye. I love mine. It does well enough as a smoker but it'll get 8 or 900 degrees. A lot of folks complain about flame ups but if you keep it clean there are no issues. For butts/brisket I put a grease pan in. After cooking chicken or ribs I'll crank it up to riot for a bit to burn off any grease so there's never a lot accumulated to ignite.
