That's incorrect. Vaccines are given to help increase an individual's immune response in the event of infection. Often this results in no symptoms and a decreased viral load such that you can't transmit to another individual, but not always. Reduced capacity to spread and mitigation of severe outcomes means it's a good vaccine.
