If Simmons quit for not wanting to play in the NIT then Fournette quit for not playing in the bowl game.
Fournette did kinda quit on LSU. The difference between him and ben is that he was LSU thorough and through and also gave 3 years of fricking highlight reel material. Unlike the aforementioned Simmons

This is a symptom of 1 and done in basketball vs. 3 years and pro in football. If players could leave to go pro after 1 year in college for football, they would. The situations arent really any different though which goes back to my, any LSU football player who "opted out" a bowl game to go pro is in the same situation simmons was at end of the season if we want to start throwing around the "quitter" talk here. It's no different. Fournette was a quitter. Damone Clark was a quitter this past season then.
You might perceive it to be different because football players are forced to stay 3 years here, but the end game is still the same. High professional picks have not wanted to play in lesser postseason games for a while now whether that's football or basketball.
I fully get the Simmons is a dumpster fire in the NBA but the people trying to act like he "quit" on LSU is pretty laughable honestly. He played in every single game while he was here and was by far the best player on the team. Yeah, he skipped out on the NIT knowing he was going to be the #1 pick. If that's being called a quitter then let's apply the same terminology where relevant to guys who did similar here like Fournette, Damone Clark, etc...They're quitters too then in the same light.
