If you see the “Curleys” that followed and don’t reconsider your dislike of Shemp. I don’t know what to tell you.

I think it goes deeper than this, even, although it is a solid point.

Moe and Shemp were the first "Stooges", teaming up with Ted Healy around 1922, and Larry joining in 1928. Shemp left the act in 1932, Moe recommended Curley replace him and the rest, as they say, is history.
