I don't understand how a putative Stooges fan can even ask such a question. The Middle Stooge is the fan in the room. The glue that holds the entire thing together. Without Larry, it is just a violent, abusive psychopath beating up his brother.

He didn't have to hit himself or other people to get laughs. He didn't have to make faces or, get a Pete Rose haircut to look funny.
I think he was born funny. Funny looking anyway.

I stand corrected. A few late night whiskeys will do that to you.

I watch the Stooges almost every weekend. Have every short and movie, so I started watching them in order of release. I just finished 1944.
