An appreciation of Shemp begins with understanding that he could’ve copied his brother Curley and did not. He placed himself above Curley and beneath Larry, making a position of his own.

If you see the “Curleys” that followed and don’t reconsider your dislike of Shemp. I don’t know what to tell you.

Shemp saved the Stooges after Curly's stroke. He was a worthy replacement. A real mensch. Next thing you'll say is Joe Besser was a funny guy.

Shemp was my favorite. Curly had his episodes that he owned, but to me Shemp was the funniest of the Stooges.
