I've got mine set to kick on at 8am (about when the sun is getting to it) until 9pm.

So far so good this season, but I may bump up the time when the water gets warmer.

I’m pretty similar. Run it for at least 12 hours. 8a-4p at 75% and 4p-8p at 100%.
