That is TERRIBLE advice. I can guarantee you are in the 6's now (BAD) What was your pH to begin with? 1 gallon of muriatic acid will lower my ph by 1, and that is 18,500 gallon pool.
Stop listening to pool store employees....they are not knowledgeable . There ONLY goal is to sell and make MONEY
