Shematsi graduated and the other three were expendable, with the players that are coming in via the portal and the recruiting class. I'm glad we're keeping Payne and Ware, as both will probably be big contributors next season.

I mean, I understand the transfer portal giveth and the tp taketh away. This would be like Moon Ursin signing then almost immediately heading to Tulane.
I assume Martinez is immediately worried about playing time if Reese comes aboard. If she bolts, we’ll be fine with Reese and Williams up front backed up by Gusters.
But shite, once these kids sign, they should at least be tied to their school for the next season before they can hit the portal again. This is ridiculous.

Angel Reese and Martinez both play the 4. Reese is an all American averaging a double double scoring near 20 PPG.

Only reason I could possibly fathom Martinez going back out and taking visits, is that Reese has indicated she’s coming to LSU. Otherwise, it doesn’t make sense.

When she came in on her visit supposedly they talked about her playing the 3 and the 4. She did say she wants to expand her perimeter game shooting for the next level but nothing exactly about being a guard.
Anyways I hope they land her, losing out on Esmery is not good unless they get Angel.

IF we get Reese, I don't think losing Martinez hurts quite as much because Williams can play the four and let Gusters play the five. That's still gonna be an awesome starting five..........

Combo guard. Not ideal to start a freshman at the point. But she's damn good. So I could see it. Kim could go with a three guard line up with her and Alexis at the 2 & 3. Put Reese at the four but run an offense that showcases her on perimeter some. She could be deadly in ball screen situations. Reese is so vital to this team. Everything will fall in place.
