But still, Abbott’s unique position as a border-state governor offers him a chance to differentiate himself from other Republicans, which could be a boon if he’s considering a 2024 presidential run.

Let’s cut the BS, it’s DeSantis or Trump, and any other discussion is in vain.

If Trump wants to run in 2024, it is his nomination. Everything else is meaningless.

The ONLY reason I'm voting Abbott for governor is that Beta is running against him.

There are only 2 viable candidates for President, Trump or DeSantis.

This is the only one that scares me. She motivates the black voter turnout, the glass ceiling crowd, the ever toxic college educated white women vote. The media would fawn after her, social media would censor anything unflattering and she'd have the Obama political capital behind her.

Abbott does not stand a chance, especially after shipping illegals deeper within our borders.

I hope it's Desantis, but Trump and DeSantis are the only real R candidates. It would be a colossal mistake not to ensure one of them got the nomination.

The dems better run Michelle Obama or they are going to get slaughtered. Not saying she'd win - I would hope not - but she's the only one that isn't a complete joke and that's just because she's a black woman and obama's husband.

Heels up isn't going to get it. She dropped out before the primaries last time.

No way Abbott runs (no pun intended) for President. He's just posturing against Beto for the next gubernatorial election.

i have anger at Abbott for letting lockdowns go on too long and letting the border stuff linger longer than needed, but let's not act like you're only voting for him because of Beto.

I voted for West, but it's not like we were choosing between Romney/McCain and Trump/Desantis as republicans.
