That’s how accurate their documentation was of the events.
Hundreds of first hand accounts to back up their claims.

Who's squirming here? I would imagine we're all pretty confident and content in our beliefs. Y'all coming in here and openly mocking those of us that choose to believe and accept a free gift on the other hand, seem to be less so. Or you wouldn't feel the need to do exactly what y'all are doing right now.

He was crucified and died at 33 years of age (i.e., 33 AD); therefore, it would be 1989 years ago.

That’s a recent development in the long history of Japan. Prior to 1946, their culture and society was heavily based on warfare. The U.S. occupation of Japan did a lot to change that nation’s outlook on life.

The whole story is a myth. We know that because the stories were written 50 to 70 years after his death.
Paul’s writings date to about the year 50. So roughly 20 years after the crucifixion. When you factor in the fact that his writings were letters to churches that he personally founded, it’s easy to deduce that the stories were promulgated throughout the Mediterranean world earlier than the year 50.

Especially when you consider the fact that it took place 2000 years ago.
Which makes it less likely to be true.

Do you apply that standard to other ancient, historical figures like Alexander the Great? We know he existed but the vast majority of his exploits weren’t written down until 500 years after his death.

The uncomfortable truth for you is that you would NEVER be that disrespectful to me in real life. I promise you. I’m not even as spiritual as I feel like I should be, I’m not as devout as some of the other Christians are but I can guarantee you that you’d have a completely different tone in real life in front of me and other like minded individuals.
The internet has a bunch of y’all way too comfortable with being disrespectful little shits when there’s no reason for it

We don't know what's true and what isn't in history. But we can believe or choose not to. I don't believe a baby was conceived without man, died and was resurrected 3 days later.

This is so true. If we are to honor Christ's teachings we can't just be turning the other cheek on message boards.
Black eyes for Jesus!

Thousands of first hand accounts the world was flat. And still to this day. Doesn't make it true.

There is no original documentation from the time of Christ's death/resurrection. The earliest documentation that we have is P52 which dates 100 to 200 years CE, depending on what you read, and is the size of a credit card.
