An insurance policy is a contract. You need to read the contract to see what they can or cannot so.

You know, I suggested that. They haven't found the actual policy yet. They had the policy number and they checked with the agency to make sure it was in good standing. They were told by the agency that the policy was in good standing.
ETA: I'm hoping they can find the actual policy soon.
