This shite is like a Grisham novel on steroids. Basically a bunch of people stole 35 million to 100 million of federal grants (they know that much was stolen can’t account for another 70 million) that were supposed to go to poor people and Brett Favre trying to get the people that were stealing the money to pay off last million of commitment to USM to build a volleyball stadium, invest in some scam medical company that was allegedly trying to create a nose spray that would help prevent concussions, etc. A bunch of them have already been indicted. Even have ex professional wrestler Ted Debaise involved. We have a 5 million dollar volleyball court at USM, both the sitting Governor tator tot and previous Governor Bryant likely to come under investigation if they are not already targets, trainers getting 300 k in bonus for boot camps for fat asses from the country club, 100s of thousands going to supertalk radio, etc. I am sure a few people on here go some free money as well. It’s a Mississippi Hayride

Phil Bryant appears to be involved as well. The FBI should be investigating this.

Favre is true white trash that can throw a football well. When white trash gets money, things get dirty.

Yeah to be honest, and i like Brett, if he were Joe blow average guy he would have already been indicted. The Governor probably should already been indicted too but this is total GOP state so that’s not happening

John Davis the former director of Mississippi welfare department gave a lot of money away that had nothing to do with welfare funds. He was suppose to go to trail, but they reassigned judges. Looks like he got lucky.
quote:
A Hinds County judge has reassigned the criminal case of retired Mississippi welfare director John Davis to a special judge who happens to be Davis’ former colleague, according to a court order posted Tuesday.
The new judge, former Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Jess Dickinson, ran the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services while Davis served as director of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
The two agencies that Dickinson and Davis ran interacted closely; the offices used to be one in the same until the Legislature separated CPS into its own department in 2016. But CPS still gets funding from the welfare agency.

Makes you wonder if he ran out of money. Stupid people with money don't keep it long if they don't get help with it.

Even for political pricks, stealing money from poor people like this is bullshite and you are going straight to hell. (Steal from the government or military like everyone else)
There is a even a bible verse curse on this shite something like woe to those that take advantage of the poor widows and orphans you are going to burn like kindling or something.

"to pay off last million of commitment"
"Ted Debaise involved"
Figured he might have just enough to help out.

Jess is from Hattiesburg, knows all the parties so the cover up is in full swing. There will be a deal now.
Feds should really step in on this shite, since they were federal grants involved and they are clearly protecting someone.

I feel that it is the opposite if he wasn't a household name, it wouldn't even be a story. So much money was stolen over the time Davis was in charge, Favre isn't even a blimp on the radar.
Mississippi State got millions out of this scheme. Even after Davis abruptly retired/then arrested, Mississippi's welfare department keep sending payments, that had nothing to do with helping the poor.
Even after the fraud was uncovered-
quote:
In the first seven months of the current federal fiscal year, from October of 2019 to May of 2020, the top TANF recipient was nonprofit Mississippi Community Education Center, which received $4.9 million, according to a spreadsheet the agency provided Mississippi Today. Officials from the nonprofit, Nancy and Zach New, were arrested alongside Davis in February in what State Auditor Shad White is calling the largest public embezzlement scheme in state history.
The next largest TANF recipient was the National Strategic Planning and Analysis Research Center (NSPARC) at Mississippi State University, which received $1.7 million under a contract to provide technical support and data analysis to the agency. In an interview with Mississippi Today, the current Human Services Director Bob Anderson said he was familiar with NSPARC, but that he hadn’t seen the results of their work, for which the department has paid several million in the last few years.
quote:
The next largest recipients were the Mississippi Alliance of Boys and Girls Clubs ($1.6 million),
Family Resource Center of North Mississippi ($1.5 million),
Cambria Solutions ($791,000),
the Mississippi Department of Employment Security ($776,000)
and SPAHRS Interface ($662,000),
the state’s electronic payroll system,
Mississippi State University’s ACCESS program for students with disabilities ($560,000),
the Office of the State Auditor ($355,000)
and the Mississippi Community College Board ($341,000).
quote:
In the seven months Mississippi Today examined, the welfare agency paid these subgrantees and other partners more than $18 million and paid just $4.2 million to direct assistance to poor Mississippians, including what appears to be transportation stipends.
A one man scheme?

Wow!!! If true this greatly enhances my opinion of Brett Favre's intelligence. This is impressive in its scope and corruption. He does not come across as a particularly smart dude in person and I've known people that have known him since high school.
I'm actually impressed. It sounds crooked and probably is and if this were Phil Bryant alone, I would not be the least surprised. But to see that Favre is coming up with these schemes makes me crack a smile.
