You are never in a million years getting a highway built through Spanish Lake because of new age hippy environmental wetland laws.

Either that or run it along side the power lines to I-10 somewhere north of the Gonzales/LA30 exit.

I'm skeptical that they'll let anything get built over Spanish Lake.
