I mean, nobody complained. You think he is different? No. It is mental and not physical.
Thompson also had no SPRING AT ALL. but you knew that right?
You also knew that Johnson tried Doughty? All of those infielders Maineri recruited NONE OF THEM CAN FIELD now,correct. Do you honestly think that all of a sudden they forgot how to field?

They keep pointing to this except all of these guys outside of Berry are LSU PLAYERS FROM LAST SEASON.
People on here are just plain dumb.

Dude you are helping those people’s point. They are the same players from last year and have gotten much worse defensively.
Anyone who wants to fire Johnson right now is miserable and just looking to complain. With that being said, his teams going forward are going to have to be much better defensively if they want to win anything of significance in the SEC. That’s just the truth.

The fact that he continually throughout his career has one of the bottom defenses in the country tells me all I need to know concerning how he views defensive play. I’m not saying he’s not a good coach I’m simply saying if he accepts being in the bottom 10% year in and year out LSU needs to find another coach.

I really don't think the fielding errors are a "COACHING" problem. These players come here with the basic knowledge of how to "field" a baseball. They have the knowledge of how to field the ball they just don't have the skill and talent to do it consistently.

What do you think Skip would have done ?? Exactly. Keep ‘em after games and field field field !!! That’s what made Alex Bergman so good. Even if he came close to committing an error he’ll be staying after the game for several hours fielding balls !!!

Jay Johnson was a incredible hire by Woodward. Are we really at the point that if he loses one game in a college baseball season he deserves to be fired? He just lead us to a dominant series win vs #8 Florida. Chill out. ??
