He could motivate and recruit though. That stretch of basketball from the late 70's to about 92 was fun to watch. Big out of conference games, huge crowds...

I was at the Kentucky game at the Assembly Center in '78, I think that was the best, most exciting LSU sporting event I've ever seen/attended and I was at the 2019 NC game
