I have another company I’ve been building since the last slowdown. Going to try to run both.

Well then it sounds like a no-brainer, even for a few months

It’s a cyclical business, survive the down cycle to make bank in the up cycle. If you survived 2014-2021, it’s your turn to have sun shining on your arse. That’s really the key to success in any commodity biz.

Going back to the oilfield in what positions that are paying insane?
Hornbeck and Chouest are paying masters $1,000+ a day.

Drilling fluids specialist/ mud engineer/ fluid engineer all the same making $1100 day 15 days on 14/14 rotation plus $50 day per diem. That’s where we at. But not adding any rigs to the current fleet.

Is anyone else considering making the jump to the oilfield? I swore I’d never jump back in, but the pay they are offering is insane.
I left the oil field in 2001 and haven’t looked back. My dad and step dad both make something stupid like 1500k to 2000k a day so if you can make that kinda money I say go for it.

I make about 700 a day. I'm satisfied.

Baws gonna be in for a surprise when they get that first paycheck and find out there’s no F-250’s on lot. Guess they could just buy the chrome 22” wheels, cheap mud tires and Carolina squat suspension to use whenever they find a truck.

Oh they have them, but damn they are priced way too high. I was looking at one that was a lariat. On the dealers website it said price was 59,000. Well I drove over to dealer and asked about truck and was shown the truck. But the price was 79,000. I mean dang!

Word, I basically was just trying to cash in on the short term. I know oil, like every other market, is about to enter a massive bubble and I just see the dollar signs that could set up a better future doing something I really want to do later

Anything a 25+ year plant operator qualified for in oil field. Esp. since we got a 3% raise with 7.5 inflation.
