eventually we need to win one of these close games. Look at all our losses when healthy they’re close and we frick it up in the end
That’s the main problem/challenge. LSU does not play well at the end of the game. In many cases this year they’ve been in close games at the end because of several bad foul calls throughout the game.
Yes, LSU’s style of D leads to more fouls validly being called than the “average” team. But in the end, it’s the handful (at least) of bad calls that are the difference between a 1 pt game they end up losing and a 10 point game they should have won.
This is what gets the least credit. Yes they make bad reaching fouls. But it seems like their reaching style of D is the reason the refs seem to always lean towards calling a foul when often it doesn’t even seem that close (that there was not a foul).
It happened immediately in tonight’s game. Wade almost had a heart attack 60 secs in because of it. When that same BS call happens 5 more times, it’s 10 pts in the end that shouldn’t have been given to the opponent. And that leads to close losses and super difficult games to watch.
Not all calls are bad. But enough are against LSU on any given night to piss fans off enough to feel like the whole game was against LSU, even though it was only a handful of calls. But that handful doesn’t go the other way (just because LSU gets a few 50/50 calls) and that handful is the difference that leads to losing these close games.
