Some kids just tried to bump rob me in Quarter and followed me to Hotel -Be Careful

Got a last minute late reservation at doris metropolitan(freaking awesome btw), and after an uber trip from a nut job from hell that took 45 minutes to get us 8 blocks after making us walk 7 blocks into bad area to catch the damn thing, (from canal ), we decided despite my better judgment to cut back thought quarter on foot.
First, of all I noticed spotters everywhere, then as we got to crowded section two thugs tried the whole “bump and lift” (very amateur with it btw). I told them to “get their ducking hands out of my pocket” and thought that was end of it.
( My wife forget and left few pieces of jewelry on which I sure got us targeted and fact we are 40 years older than the crowd. She knows better.)
Thought that’s the end of it, but then I noticed as i got to canal they were following me and closing.
Of course, no help in sight and I am not armed. Barely got back to hotel in time. Cops are trying and in good force but they are out numbered 2 or 3 to one
Be careful out there rn, it’s not safe

This story is bullshite.
A "Bump" robbery doesn't turn into a stalking downof the target.
If they miss the grab with you, they continue to the next person.
If they were going to mug you, they wouldn't have bothered with the "Bump", just followed you to a better mugging spot. Why would they alert you to their intentions with the bump?
Quit spreading bullshite to gain internet points.

In that situation your best strategy is to turn around and walk directly toward them. If they lay hands on you, you go Tennessee mountain man on the one closest. These cowards can only take on people in packs.

I know you’re exaggerating about the situation but I do know two people who were pick pocketed in the quarter yesterday. Fun times. Hooray New Orleans!

Just don't walk around acting like everything is cool. I look everyone in the eye that looks at me. Walk upright and fast. Don't get hammered and let your guard down. People look for weakness and sloppy-ness. They don't want to mess with confidence and soberness. Easier to rob drunk morons. Sounds gay I know. But it is what it is.
