The Czech government approved the purchase of 24 F-35 Lightning II aircraft for 106 billion crowns (~$4.57 billion). Training will begin on the first aircraft in 2029. The first aircraft will be delivered in 2031, all by 2035.

The F-35s will replace both the JAS-39 Gripen and the L-159 Alca in the Czech Air Force.

This order now makes about 500 current or future F-35s that will be in the service of our European allies.

All of you who have been saying that Europe needs to step up are getting your wish.

I think it just landed with too little runway left.

Definitely over shot the runway. Seemed like some pilot error there.

They were showing airstrikes against the northern half of the town. Pretty much confirms UKR presence.

Just looked at your history. You have one single lone post that isn't in this thread or threads with 'Ukraine' in the title.

Russia knows the Kerch Bridge is living on borrowed time. They have now started construction on a new rail bridge in Mariupol to link Ukraine to Russia in the region. The Ukrainians destroyed the old bridge in the battle for Mariupol last year. I’d keep letting them get a good portion built and then hurl a round of Storm Shadows at them. Rinse and repeat. Kind of like the person that spends all day at the beach building a huge sand castle just to have a little kid come kick it over. You’d think the Russians were smarter than to waste time building rail bridges when they are easily within Ukrainian fire control but these are the Russians. Thinking isn’t their top quality.

How would you like to be working on that project. Every time someone drops something heavy or bangs on something everyone probably has to go change underwear.

Sure as shite hope they get hazard pay! There’s not enough rubles in Putinland to put my arse on that bridge. It’s like your job you’re getting paid to do is playing Russian roulette every single day every second of the day. It’s not a question of if but just when they get their nuts blown off.

The sales pitch on Australia's cardboard drone. Stealthy and impressive range. Ukraine is getting about 100 of these a month.

Wasn't there an issue with brake parts for civilian planes? I wonder if it extended to military as well.

Weird puff when he first landed. Like he hit the reverse then smashed the throttles to try to get airborne again.

Apparently it is better than anything else that is out there. The F35 has gone head to head with the latest version of the F16, F18, Gripen, Eurofighter, Rafale, and Mig in multiple foreign sales and won every single one of them.

That’s awesome. Guess we can leave NATO now. Europe is finally becoming civilized enough to defend its own people

It’s not a piece of shite. My brother in law flies them, and have spoken to plenty other f35 pilots, and they love that plane. It’s had its issues sure. But that thing is so far advanced than anything in the arsenal, that in an actual war, there’s nothing else any of our pilots would rather be in.

The F-35 has had its problems but it is in no way a piece of shite. All aircraft have their bugs you have to get worked out when they go into production and the more high tech the aircraft are the more bugs that can arise. What the F-35 is and will be is a massive export asset. It is a 5th gen stealth aircraft that is expensive but for the tech and stealth capabilities it gives air forces it’s actually a pretty affordable platform to buy. There are many countries that are on the fence about buying new 4th gen+ aircraft or even spending a little more and upgrading to 5th gen fighters. It all comes down to money which was the F-22’s downfall but the F-35 I believe is going to be a solid selling aircraft which in turn brings money back to the USA. This is all before even talking about the capabilities it gives our own Air Force. If you don’t have stealth capabilities now you’re pretty much a sitting duck to advanced air defense systems.
