It was never the plate approach. PMs plate approach worked when he had good players.

Johnson how ever, does seem to be a more nuanced teacher of hitting.

This team is going to hit .290-.300 as a whole average. The pitching is key! Can we have an era less than 4.5 or something

1. I’m interested in seeing the hitting approach and philosophy. Like others I want to see more controlled aggression at the plate and better execution than we have seen the last few years. I have only heard great things from players but I want to see them.

2. Strike throwing and low walk amounts. Handling of pitchers.

3. I’m interested in seeing who the verbal leader will be. Call Me Old School, but Who is the guy when it gets chippy in SEC play or maybe against Texas, isn’t scared to stand up MF*** the other teams pitcher/player. Probably needs a screw loose. You have to have at-least 1. (I don’t mean make a big scene, a lot of stuff is said without fans knowing).

Last, I’m anxious to see how we perform in the 1 run ball games. Your season is defined by how you do in these. You can deduct how our szn will end off the W/L record of these games.

I want to see a team that looks like they give a shite and have some fight in them. The Mainieri teams took on his sit and pout personality.

A team that has confidence & has fun. Bullpen & bench that buys into the common goal of winning. Foot on throat mentality

How is Eric Reyzelman coming along? He seemed to be mastering his control and with the heat he throws, I figured he’d be a weekend starter.

Is he now projected as a bullpen guy?

Competitive pitches in or around the zone when working ahead.
The absolute waste pitched bounced in the other batters box and Helmet high when up 0-2 1-2 were infuriating

A head coach whose face doesn’t turn purple when crunch time comes. When the head coach doesn’t constantly show visible stress… The players play more relaxed.

Going to the plate with a plan vs swinging for the cheap seats every at bat.
