If they have good voice acting for the secondary characters and meaningful side quests, they’ll have fixed my only issues with the first game. There wasn’t a single meaningful, engaging side quest in the entirety of HZD. It seems like they were devoted to addressing both with HFW, so I’m hopeful.
The main quest was such a banger that i forgave them for the side content since it was clearly an afterthought and all their real writing resources were 100% devoted to the main story. Not only was it a great plot, but it was a great example of competent narrative execution. They way they delivered and revealed everything to you was just brilliant. Hoping they can maintain that level of quality

Interestingly, the main story seems to be the weakest link with a lot of these reviews. But the side quests are getting praise for being significantly better than the main narrative. Pretty much everyone is praising the open world, gameplay, graphics, etc. tho. And a lot of the character writing is apparently great, just not really the narrative throughline itself.
LMAO they flip flopped

I usually burn myself out with these types of games by doing so many side quests. No different in this game because I instantly went meh about it. That being said I think I paid around $20 for it and I got about 20ish hours of game play. So I did enjoy playing it just lost interest.
It sucks because I read the story online and it did seem pretty great. I'd give this sequel a chance but honestly I quit buying games in the first week besides Sekiro (which is why I might get elden ring after a week).
I just don't see the point of buying these games anymore at full price when they aren't a full game yet. Fool me once...
