being at the race is fun. Getting to and from the tracks sucks.
No doubt, for anyone going to COTA this year and driving/parking I'd suggest just going catch the Shaq DJ set or whoever else is playing afterwards and killing a couple hours. We left after the podium ceremony and it took over 2 hours just to get out of the lot we parked in. We were spoiled from Saturday as after the Billy Joel concert the crowd had significantly thinned, so we were back at the hotel in ~30 minutes.

I went last year to COTA and dont feel the need to go to another race in person. They are fun and all, but I kind of enjoy watching on my couch.
There is so much going on with tire strategy and other things that you can see on TV that is impossible to see at the race. my friend bought the f1 radio ear muffs last year to try to listen at COTA but there was no radio signal at the track, waste of like $150.
About all you can do at the track is bring a stop watch and time the gaps between different people each lap to see if they are gaining or losing time.

I do enjoy the races of the other Formula series.

Everyone needs to go at least once to see, hear, and smell it. I've never been to an F1 race, but I've been to plenty of Indy races, and the feeling as the cars go by is something else. I've been right up on the fence before, and you get an adrenaline rush just standing there.

How is cell service there? You could always use the F1TV timing screen on your phone.

Completely agree abt having to use a stopwatch (id use mine on my phone in 2018). Cell service sucked then at COTA, was solid service at Singapore that year though.

Well FP1 is happening. But the track is really wet so I don't think we're going to figure out who is going to be fast this weekend.

Hope to see a strong showing from Williams. Japanese F1 fans have some great headwear...

Wait, did Mick just crash at the end of the session?

Little bout of insomnia has me watching FP2 live. If anyone cares to watch the replay, there was some fairly interesting tire talk from Pirelli guy Mario Isola during the session.
Also, watching Max, Lewis, and George trade fastest laps as they ramped up was interesting. Hopefully we get 3 teams legitimately in the mix during the race.

Haven't watched any practice.
That bad huh?

KMag did great. P5 in both practices.
Mick was P7 in FP1 then wadded up the car on the way back to the pits. Chassis change so he didn't run FP2.

I just saw a clip where Latifi took a wrong turn on a closed section of the track and came on the radio and said “Not sure what happened there, the car, was strange…”
This dude took a wrong turn and blamed the car.

Just watched the highlights. Goatifi making the wrong turn and blaming it on the car is hilarious

Rumor was, would F1 fine RB points and thusly take away his 21 title and hand it to Ham sandwich.
i'm guessing only the toxic LH fans believed this.

Hell even GT America races are awesome, even if you don't know the guys, the cars sound great and the racing can be great. Cool that it's looking like GT America will continue coming down to NOLA Motorsports for a bit. And the super trofeo usually travel with them so there's a ton of stuff to see and do, just wish NOLA was better fitted with some grandstands
