Damnit, I've been meaning to read the Gulag Archipelago but instead I forgot about it and started Five Rings.
Great quote.
Great quote.

You made a wise choice!
I read an abridged version of G.A. - about half the unabridged length - and it was excruciating. I only made it about half way through, and I am a patient reader.
The book is not meant to be a philosophical treatise or an interesting read. It is meant to be an overwhelming catalogue of Soviet atrocities, and it is!

Is required reading in schools in Russia I am told.
Should be here.
What a book. I'm on a second read through. It's on my nightstand now. Worming on another book series.
It's incredible and frightening at the same time.
Horror movies and shite I don't watch and think they are stupid.
Books like this of what really happened like The Gulag Archipelago and The Killing Fields are absolutely scary.
That shite keeps me up at night while I'm reading through them.
