Bulls have honestly set themselves up long-term better than I think anyone could have imagined a year ago.

Between DeRozan and Lavine having career years, Lonzo turning into an elite 3 and D wing stopper along with Caruso, and finding their own Herb Jones in Ayo Dosunmu, Patrick Williams still there with his huge upside, Bulls have a number of ways they can add that final piece to be a true contender next year and still have great depth

Which I dont think anyone saw coming

To the point if Ayo keeps this up, they might be selling Lonzo + Williams for that final piece, like a Jaylen Brown. Ayo has been that good. Great defender and averaging 12, 7asts, 4 rebounds, 43% from three as a starter

Caruso was a huge piece, which is also what the Lakers have discovered this season.

To keep this dumb thread going, here’s what this guy and another rando are saying they’re hearing:

quote:

Sato, Jax, Temple, and two more pieces to the Pacers.

For Sabonis I assume? It’s not specified.

Only way Sabonis helps us is if Jonas is going out, and by all reports Jonas is off the table in any deals.

Griff should be fired before anyone lets that happen. That would just be dumb.

My whole thing was never Lonzo is better than Graham(Though he is), it was that it could/should have been Lonzo + Graham.

Yea this is my view of the Lonzo decision right now. My understanding is the main reason for not signing him was opportunity cost. Well who is on the roster right now that wouldn’t be here had we just resigned Lonzo? That’s not a rhetorical question I certainly don’t know the nba cap well enough to know. Until I see someone on the roster thanks to the space cleared by Lonzo I don’t see how letting him walk (functionally) was a good decision.

That would provoke some serious melting

Not if they flipped Sabonis for Fox, which would be the only reason to send that kind of package to Indy.

It’s definitely CJ.

Dude, I fell like we are gonna get trade raped by someone. I almost feel like we should just hold serve.

I do think there's a chance Griff values CJ way more than most of us on this board do, which is scary. That being said, we reportedly are out on Fox because Griff wouldn't bend over far enough for them, so that's a good sign.

If we are gonna get fricked, I would rather get Fox fricked than CJ fricked.

I wouldn't mind Sabonis. I don't know where he would fit, but the franchise just needs to be stockpiling talent right now.

This feels a lot like free agency this past summer. Our FO going out of their way to put out reports of how ‘aggressive’ they’re being. So that when nothing big happens they can be like “oh well, we were trying really hard”

Alot of these reports really sound like they're coming from Portland though hoping to drive up the price and try to get an extra 1st or something

just a year ago ppl thought Derozan was on his last leg and not worth much---I wonder if CJ can have a similar refresher once moved. Guys complain his numbers are a tad bit lower, but if they were higher he wouldn't be available or the ask would be much greater.

Great---I rather Fox, but I think CJ would have an instant impact as a plug-and-get buckets guy. You take away a lot of NAW shots and that's a success in itself.
