When your most trusted assistant is a convicted felon, what would one expect? Add in some Red Bull fueled ‘roid rage encounters and yeah, the money folks might well have recoiled from that scene.

What about Ed’s last few years at LSU leads you to believe that couldn’t be true?

Assuming that what Embody said was true about damage to relationships with big $ boosters, why does it fall solely to Kelly to repair it?
I know he's a sacred cow here, but I become more concerned as time goes on about Scott W. He solves problems by throwing money at it. WAY BIG MONEY, as if he had an endless supply. He doesn't and some boosters I know are concerned about that.
And when it came signing day and our chief SEC competitors had LOTS of money, we couldn't pay the market rate. Even for La. kids.
Not saying Scott was a mistake, but some of this concerns me.

It’s definitely just you. Some of those boosters have already begun to come back around, those relations are being mended because of Kelly’s professional approach. That said, there is still a lot of work to be done with some. Not because of Kelly, but because of O and Ponamskey. Don’t misconstrue things. Kelly is fixing a mess left by the previous staff. As I say this, understand, I never hated O.

Sounds like you have a problem with something Billy Embody said, which is what led to the OP that started this thread. Rather than bitching about people ITT, you should try actually reading the responses. There is an interesting discussion going on with some good points being made.

You’re seeing this as boosters vs LSU, which it is not. It was mainly boosters vs the football program. The boosters have been very pleased with what Scott has done in the athletic department, overall. But they were specifically displeased with Ed O and his mess. The boosters like the Kelly hire. But now Kelly has to develop some relationships. I don’t think it’ll be terribly difficult.

Ponamsky was a huge disaster for this program. Remember Jordy being very vocal after O's firing about how Ponamsky big-leagued him one he got a little power in the program? Jordy and Derek go waaaay back and "The Prince" shite all over him for 2 years. Derek actually thought The Rock was his friend and would tell anyone that would listen that he had his cell # in his phone after he set up the Rock Bottom hype video.

O and Ponamsky are shitty human beings and the program suffered the consequences.

He was fired the same day coach O was fired. They are tied at the hip. The moment the game was over vs Texas A&M he was gone
