Thanks for the nice post. I think you should be a little more confident in your Gators. They have a lot going for them in this game. They are playing at home in a tough place for a visiting team to win. They have revenge on their mind for last year. They have their backs against the wall and cannot afford another loss. With the way LSU is playing defense right now, I look for this to be a high scoring game with a win going to the team making the least mistakes. Unfortunately, LSU is starting a freshman QB. Although he has played well and I believe in him, it is far more likely he will be the one to make a mistake than the veteran Tebow. I give Florida the edge for these reasons, but like you I think it could go either way if LSU catches a few breaks.

Yes, there are some of us. Sup FGCU?

I was thinking something like 34-31 either way. But, I'm going to call it a Gators win because we're at home.

that board doesn't seem very negative reading the prediction thread. i didn't see one single gator fan predict a loss for their team. if you look through the prediction thread here there are quite a few. looks to me like there are a ton of homers on that board

It's actually calmed down a bit, especially since the mods/admins have made a few statements about the behavior. Ever since the Ole Miss loss, posters have been at each others throats on the main sports board. It really has been hard to sift through all of the BS that's been going on over there.

I expect Florida to have their best game of the season Saturday. The last 2 NC's playing each other will get'em fired up. I predict the Tebow of old will come to play :jump1: :jump2:

how come nobody has mentioned that florida is like on their 3rd string offensive line. they are going against not only the best but the deepest d-line in college football. that is where the game will be won or lost. if tebow can hang in and make some quick passes against our young secondary, they have a chance. if not, it will be ball control on lsu offense and keep away from tebow and the speedsters

Florida has been delaing with injuries on both lines. They are supposed to get a couple of guys back on defense (safety and linebacker) and on offense (lineman and running back). That should help a little with depth, but the O line is hurting. They are down to someone that is like 4 or 5 on depth chart and have moved guys from their normal positions. That will be a big thing, in my opinion...trying to give Tebow time with a makeshift line against a very aggressive defense.

My prediction for the game Saturday

LSU 27
Florida 23

Thats realistic in my opinion. I know it can be flip flopped just as easily. I want my Gators to go prove me wrong, but I fear/respect LSU more so than any SEC team. Miles has grown on me, and he is the real deal...I think. I think you will be able to gut us with Scott. Williams and Holliday (sp) will get their touches, but we are pretty fast on D. We always struggle against someone who can pound it down our throats.

I watch most Gator games here in O-town, so I'm pretty up on your boys. Damn, your speed looked pretty good last week, you had them little guys running all up and down the field. That was impressive. Of course I hope we win, but aside from that, I hope it's another SEC Classic, like last year's game—the kind of game that has the rest of CF nation buzzing. frick USC-OSU—the real deal's this Saturday in Gainesville.

Yeah yeah, but I mean for the ENTIRE season we have had a group of guys that belittle the offense week in and week out, regardless of the outcome of the game. I agree that we haven't looked very sharp, but I'm not at the "Fire Meyer, Mullen etc" point yet. Then we have a group of Kool-Aid drinkers who think we are heading in the right direction, and they clash with the others.

Really hard to have a contructive conversation with those two extremes.

I lie somewhere in the middle. We obviously have talent, but I don't think we are utilizing it to its full advantage, play-calling wise. Meyers has said that Rainey and Demps (two speedsters, 5'8 180 soaking wet) are tough and can run inside, but I don't buy it. Dives up the middle with them will not get the job done. Counters and misdirections with those guys will work, as will screens and jet sweeps.

This board looks great though, I like arguing with knowledgable rivals. We have one of the other board, a Vol. The rest are just plain moronic.

Do you think Tebow will go back to his old style of play for this game? I see him running like crazy.

I want to see him run like that. Not sure if we will see it though. Its his style of play, he is a big physical guy who wants to pound the rock.

Unfortunately, our OC and HC want him to be more of a pocket passer and keep some hits off of him.

He is definetly staying in the pocket more, but the coaches are contradicting themselves because CONSTANTLY when we spread out 5 wide, we leave no extra blockers for him. We started to keep a little more protection in the Arkansas game, but he was still all alone back there several times.

Getting back to him running, I don't know if we will see it. The play-calling of this staff is predictable, but the adjustments week in and week out aren't. Us fans expect to see it, and then gameday comes and...Nothing.
