Work at the hospital. Had a nice 15 minute convo with a guy that was on Deepwater Horizon and lost one of his legs. Joked that he never has to work a day in his life again.

Just curious. We joke about the Gordon McKernans and Spencer Callahans of the world but who are the actual big timers around here that take the big cases. The guy all the lawyers go too.

Used to be in the industry. Know a bunch. Most don't have billboards or anything like that.

This fine-looking gentleman. You don’t even have to pay him unless you win!

I dated one’s daughter and he was a huge (but very short) prick.

Someone got a $19million+ jury verdict in the 19th JDC about a year ago.

Those verdicts are useually a combination of good attorneys and good facts and a bad injury.

Work for another 20 years and get back to me on that. With the prosthetics available these days I might be willing to part with mine.

Just remember who gets the majority of cash with big class action suits. Those peeps ain't funding their luxury lifestyles by giving the clients the money.

I was on a wrongful death case jury a few years ago. The company being sued had stipulated their liability. The trial was to determine their percentage of liability and the amount of the judgement. This jury was definitely not a good, reasonable one. They were emotion-driven in their decision making. I was the only one that thought the verdict for damages was unreasonably high. Since I was the only one I didn’t fight with them. I stated why I thought the way I did and left it. Since it was a civil trial my disagreement didn’t make any difference. But we were still a little shy of 7 figures.

And Tony Clayton as co-counsel depending on your venue.

My father in law used to work with and know one of the biggest names in New Orleans years ago, I can’t remember his name though. He was the leading lawyer on the MGM Grand fire decades ago as well as other enormous world-famous accidents. It’s gonna come to me soon and when it does I’ll edit this post. I’m pretty sure he was one of the giants, though. Maybe someone else knows?

Edit: it’s Wendell Gaithier

Complete clusterfrick of a trial. Judge couldn't have fricked it up more with his pre-trial and in-trial rulings if he tried.
