So UGA plays a lot of zone, had a great defense this year, won the title, have a great defensive head coach that learned under Saban forever, and a DC that just got hired to be Oregon's coach, but I'm supposed to be concerned about zone defense?
Good defense is about getting pressure regardless of what you're doing on the back end of it.

No doubt.
I also have an issue with people making “zone vs man” a black and white thing
You can be aggressive and physical at the LOS in zone. You can be passive and soft in man coverage
We will play both zone and man, as almost every good defense does. You want to be able to adapt to different offenses and schemes. Any defense that can only do one thing is kinda screwed when the competition is elite. That’s why Aranda was so good. Mixed up coverages and fronts. Did a good job disguising them and put his elite talent at a schematic advantage
From everything I’ve read and heard about House, it seems like he knows his stuff too.

Saban also plays a fair amount of zone or combo coverage. And his man defenses often aren’t traditional “this defender follows this guy everyone”
