If Winston is ready to go at the beginning of the year, I think we roll with him. Problem is signing him to a cap-friendly deal. If Winston is not ready, I think we go after a different QB.

Well we are projected to be 60MM over the cap, so there's that little thing we need to take care of first.

No. While it would please the fan base, we know that’s not the top priority. Money talks and we don’t have that right now.

Honestly, it’s impossible to know. This offseason will be extremely interesting at the QB position. I do believe the coaching staff has faith in Winston. Obviously Wilson would be a better QB but I’m not sure how willing they are to part with the picks that Wilson would cost

I think they’ll kick the tires but it’s really impossible to know for sure right now

It’ll be Winston… the one caveat would be if Wilson forces a trade to NOLA. Other than that, it’s Winston

I think the Saints will explore all options.

It is hard to imagine Seattle lets (to be) 34 year old franchise QB leave their organization. Aaron Rodgers is an enigma. Who the hell knows what he wants to do besides him?

It seems unlikely one of the top college QBs will be available when the Saints pick. Then again, it looks like a pretty weak class anyway.

Would Jameis agree to another 1 year deal coming off an injury? Doubtful, but who knows. Do you go out and try to sign Teddy Bridgewater if you can't trade for a big name? He was well liked and the Saints liked him.

I’ll put it like this. I think Winston has matured and does have some tools to be a decent starter, not a top 10 guy, but serviceable. With the way his season ended, I imagine he still thinks he has something to prove. So I wouldn’t hate that as a fall back option.

I also think Winston is good enough to get us to the playoffs ... but that’s all. I don’t see us ever winning a Super Bowl with him because he’s not the guy that will just take over when you need him to. That being the case, I think you have to at least TRY to overturn every stone on a true franchise QB.

I have a feeling Payton is going to push hard for Jimmy G.

Wilson and Rodgers should be plans A and B. I would guess Winston is plan C.

Plan C is the most likely.

If they don’t land Wilson or Rogers you blow it up and get a ton of picks.

How? With how much draft capital? With what cap room? We are currently paying a quarterback to call games for NBC
