I live in Baton Rouge.

I've never been shot. I've never been robbed or burglarized. I've never been scared to go anywhere but I'm also smart enough to know where not to go.

I've raised my family with no issues whatsoever. I thrive at my job and have become rich. Cost of living is cheap on average.

The people are good, parties are fun, crawfish boils, LSU games, Mardi Gras parades, festivals and fairs, beautiful walking area around the LSU lakes, etc. Great fishing and fresh seafood.

1 hour from New Orleans with a professional football and basketball team, international airport, unique culture, historic significance, wonderful first class dining.

Yes, traffic isn't good and our politicians suck, but you can complain about any city. Don't get why everyone jumps on the bandwagon of hating BR and NO so much. It's easier to shite on something than it is to stand up for the good qualities. Stop being lazy and talk about the positives.

Bad mindset. You should tell people to quit being lazy, to take care of their property and not raise their kids to be shitbags. Talking about the positives is a cope. There's plenty of areas with sports teams , good entertainment, and good food.

You’re lying to yourself to make yourself feel better.

This is such an overrated part of New Orleans. Other mid sized cities have caught up to, and probably passed, New Orleans as a food city. There are great dining options everywhere these days.

The service on the Titanic was wonderful at one point too.

Ditto! At one point in my life, anything but LA was right place. Next phase was mountains, oceans, having a real Fall season and all kinds of new things. In the end, realized family is all that matters and most places are lacking laughter and fun-loving spirit, including international places.

Have reconciled LA and its bottom of best lists and top of worst characteristics as things that filter out elsewhere people. It filtered me out for years. I'm back, and I'm back for good reason!

Baton Ruin, is by any objective measure a complete dumpster fire. No culture, just a never-ending sprawled out waste-land of strip malls and soulless office space. Trash and litter all over the place. Crooked politicians. Rage inducing traffic. Gang bangers and feral animals wandering the streets. Toxic chemical plants spewing carcinogens into the air. Restaurants serving mostly fried seafood. And a mayor and police chief who hate you, your families, and are holding the city hostage (just like what happened in Jackson, MS.).

But for LSU the city really has no reason to exist and should be flushed down the toilet.

Baton Ruin will go the way of Gary, Indiana. Louisiana overall is just a pitiful, sad state, whose bountiful resources have been squandered by venal crooks and maladjusted trash. Unashamed corruption is how the rest of the country sees you.

Maybe St. George can save the region, but I doubt the PTB are going to let that happen.

There are so many better places to relocate. Just grab a map and throw a dart. Anywhere USA is so much better than Baton Ruin.

I’ve lived in Baton Rouge forever. It’s terrible.

Give me Southern Utah/Northern Arizona

The fact that you have to post this is telling.
