OK so if we are losing MORE than the max7 replacements allowed, what's to stop us (or any school) from " recalculating" a departing player's grades?

We KNOW that schools have to bend, connive, and be creative to keep players academically eligible - so what if Compliance were to, say, "hey Max Johnson- we were getting your transcript ready to send to your new school and we discovered some errors- turns out some of your credits in Basket-Weaving and Home Economics for Dumb Jocks don't qualify towards your GPA"

If a departing player was retroactively found to be academically ineligible, AFTER announcing his destination, who does it hurt?

Wouldn't it be heartbreaking if Eli Ricks didn't have enough passed hours or a high enough GPA to do sports next semester at Bama?

You can’t be serious.

This is dirty as frick and I’m appalled that anyone would ever think of doing such a thing. If it were to ever be found out, the school would suffer dearly from a PR perspective.

Don’t let it be found out Rat

Ricks isn’t going to be a grade problem. He made it through three years of Mater Dei. That’s a tough academic high school.

Seems like a bad time to get rid of someone like Austin Thomas, unless you believe he is at fault for letting us get to this point.
