I get what you’re saying, but why have these bowls anymore? I don’t see any advantages to playing in a meaningless bowl with a completely decimated team and getting smashed in the mouth by an inferior opponent. What’s to gain here?

In 2000 there were 25 bowl games, this year we had 37 and that is with several being canceled

These bowls are not meaningless to the ones that play. Why punish a whole team because a few players opted out?
