In next year’s FB schedule, the 2nd game is against Southern U. It just made me wonder if we’ve ever faced off. I don’t remember it happening. There might all sorts of reasons for it not happening. But maybe it has. Does anyone know?

We have not.
I’m actually pretty excited about that game. It’s going to be a blowout, but I’m looking forward to Kelly’s first home game and seeing the Southern band.

NEVER. And it should be NEVER. LSU's strength of schedule will drop 100 points.

I wish we only played SEC games.

What’s the point of playing non-SEC games?

I’m ready for the SEC to add a few more schools, drop out if the NCAA, play a 10-game ALL-SEC schedule, and then have their own 8-team playoff and crown their own National Champion.

I’m not sure we’ve played an unofficial game against Southern.

Nope they have never played and IMO shouldn't be on the schedule. Power 5 teams shouldn't be able to schedule FCS schools and even more so HBCU schools. Simply because of the difference in the talent of the teams. The only thing gained from it is the FCS and HBCU schools get a big paycheck. The power 5 school gains nothing. The reason I separated FCS and HBCU is that HBCU's do not want to take part in the playoffs and it has developed over the last 20-30 years that HBCU's are a step below competition wise next to FCS schools.
