They have to. It’s completely out of control right now. Some of these kids, who aren’t even on campus yet, are being paid more than a physician.

I'm not sure how they will much considering the legal impediments to them taking any action other than limiting the schools involvement.

The NCAA has already stated that any NIL agreement that requires a student to attend a certain school or has any restrictions regarding playing time or position are against the rules.

They have also specified that the payment should be a fair market value for the service, though I am unclear how they would quantify that.

What has to happen now is the NCAA and/or the conferences need to get serious about enforcing adherence to the guidelines as much as possible. But even that is an uphill battle.
