Part of my joy in watching football, captivated me as a teen watching him announce the biggest games.
RIP
He is also a part of one of my favorite football quotes, I think after the Holy Roller play and from the Raiders radio guy.
“Madden is on the field, wondering if it’s for real!! The ref lets him know it is, now get your big butt off the field!”

And of course, Madden ‘93 or 4 or 5

John Madden was like a yogi Berra. He could say things that were obvious but it would come across as brilliant. It was must see NFL game when John and Pat were in the booth. They could make a preseason game very interesting.
