Crowd was awesome. Not sure it can be replicated again for LSU basketball.

Yeah we had done a Dome game vs. UCLA a few years earlier, but UCLA wasn't really UCLA anymore at that time, and tried one against Notre dame a couple of years later. The novelty wore off and the crowd for ND was much less.

It's a different time now and it would be very hard to replicate as you say. Georgetown had a mystique at the time and it was at the height of the Big East basketball popularity.

Maybe a game against Duke could spark some interest but I don't think even now with the interest WW is building could we get near that 60+ thousand.

Dale was a salesman and it was his dream to set an attendance record and and he sold it.

Was there too! Game was awesome, but what I remember most was the crowd. They were yelling "What the fricks a hoya" the whole time.
