Kansas St. teammates are motivated to send their senior QB out with a victory, paper mocks

Kansas Newspaper praises Kansas St's senior QB and appears to mock LSU's players for opting out.
Kellis Robinett at the Wichita Eagle - "Kansas State football fans can feel cautiously optimistic about Skylar Thompson starting at quarterback when the Wildcats take the field for the Texas Bowl. But mystery still clouds the most important position in football at LSU."
"When asked which Tigers quarterback he expects to face next month at NRG Stadium in Houston, K-State coach Chris Klieman can do little more than shrug."
“It’s a great question,” he said earlier this week.
"At least he has some confidence in Thomspon leading K-State’s offense for one final time as a “super senior” after he missed the final game of the regular season with an injury to his left ankle."
“He’s trending in the right direction,” Klieman said of Thompson. “He has practiced. We hope he doesn’t have any setbacks, and if he doesn’t then in all likelihood he will play. We’re excited about that. We still are a couple of weeks away so I don’t want to (jinx anything) in case we have a setback or anything. But right now he’s trending in the right direction.”
"Some senior quarterbacks with NFL aspirations would choose to “opt-out” of a postseason game like this, and start preparing for the next chapter in their football lives. But that isn’t the way Thompson operates."
"He has started 39 games for the Wildcats dating back to when he was a redshirt freshman in 2017, and he wants to end his college career on a high note."
"His teammates are motivated to send him out with a victory."
TTT - LSU isn’t Texas A&M, Kansas paper could at least acknowledge that!

I dont see any mocking

I don’t think he’s projected to get drafted. He has no status to protect. Of course he’s going to play.

I'm not seeing the mocking part

Wants to end on a high note, I guess LSU’s doesn’t.

How dare they!
How dare does a local Kansas newspaper print anything that doesn't totally idolize LSU!
How dare they print positive stuff about their team!
You need to get after them TTT.

The article called Brennan Max Johnson's 'Backup'. Nice research there.

Where’s the mocking and which of our QBs opted out?

Some of you guys are hypersensitive. I didn't read anything that mocked LSU.

You have become an auto downvote for me in the last two weeks. And well earned I might add.

This is a joke I hope? That couldn't even have realistic asperations of being a QB in Canada.

He's the 273rd ranked draft prospect and that's before many of the underclassmen declare.

I have had Kansas State fan after Kansas State fan tell me this is their Super Bowl to play LSU. They claim their football team will come out with a Super Bowl feel, a particular mentality which will give them the much needed edge. I told every one of them it does not matter.
