Watching the The Best of Collection on Prime and yes, it’s old and these days comedies have to be ramped up to 10 to get us to pay attention but it’s still so finely crafted creative and fun.

Think that’s an unpopular opinion on this board though

I’m not going to pretend I’ve watched I Love Lucy more than once or twice so you may be right for all I know

That's the same era to me, maybe I'm young.

I only watched black and white Andy Griffith

Greatest farce, yes. Most influential sitcom, yes. But greatest sitcom? For me, no.

Maybe I didn’t get it but years ago I didn’t care for I Love Lucy, and Seinfeld IMO is overrated. Give me something with some grit.

It’s certainly one of the best. My kids have them on all the time and they are still hilarious.

Innovative, yes with the amount of cameras they used in production as it was the first.

As for me, my all-time favorite from the black and white era was the "Andy Griffith Show" hands down.

Greatest comedy of all time has been and always will be NFL officiating. As far as shows…

It was a national phenomenon and a great show. I watched all of the episodes and all of Lucy's shows when I was a kid in the 70's. I still think the Honeymooners is just as funny and left just as large of an imprint with a one year run. Greatest of all time I don't know about.

It’s up there

Depends on what one describes as a sitcom

If the definition is a tad looser, Always Sunny and Curb enter the chat

I absolutely loved the show and the Lucille Ball Show. But the best comedy for me is still the Dick Van Dyke show. The range of comedy was just great and Dick Van Dyke is just such an amazing actor.

Also, since we are mentioning shows of this era, F Troop was criminally underrated.
