Yep. But idiots like Matt Mascona is all for the NIL and transfer portal. Watch what happens. Unless something is done about all of this, college football will no longer be the same in a couple of years.

Yep, he’s been preaching for a while.
The real issue is that there is no alternative market for these kids talents. Every startup pro football league has failed. Did you see any kids go straight to the AFL or XFL instead of NCAA? No you didn’t. The market has shown that the NCAA is still the best deal by the kids’ own actions. But it’s just not good enough.
Everyone talks about “profits” in the ncaa but virtually all of it is nonprofit. The schools that make money reinvest in their facilities and student athlete development. But that’s not good enough, and it’s only that way because maybe 100 non draft eligible players a year are making less than their market rate, all due to pro league restrictions.
NIL is a joke. The only actual advertisement I have seen a college kid in that I can recall is Cade York velveta.
