I wasn't trying to say that there's no good mexican in Baton Rouge, because there are and I can always find a place to satisfy my craving. However, none of them are blow you away or separate themselves from the others. Therefore my nod goes to Ninfa's for the green salsa. I go through at least 4 bowls of red and green salsa every time I'm there.

Baton Rouge is definitely lacking in "upscale" Mexican cuisine. I went to San Diego a couple of years back and ate at a very expensive Mexican restaurant and it was exquisite. Not this cheap, "let's see how much food we can put on your plate" crap.
