Thats a big might. You guys would 3/4 in the SEC.

Come on...2 were against Arky and we had like 50 turnovers!

Any chance of that was shot to hell by Oregon St.
Not really. You can lose to a mediocre team (hell, sometimes two of them!) and still win a BCSCG.
You just need a lot of help, and a healthy dose of luck.
Sincerely, LSU 2007

You guys would consistently be a 2-3 loss team in the SEC year in and year out, and I know you know this deep down.

shite! that hurts my 'our defense was better' argument

Truth hurts. Everyone outside of California already knew what the article states.

This bout sums it up...
People outside the SEC might not realize this, but LSU – not USC – is the only team to win two national titles this decade. The Tigers also won these two titles under two different coaches, and they won these two titles after emerging from a conference in which USC would be J-A-T (just another team).
USC

If the “greatest team ever” is going to lose twice in a row at Corvallis, we can only surmise that USC would be whitewashed two or three times a year if the schedule each season included two or three trips to some combination of Athens, Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Knoxville, the Plains and/or the Swamp.

quote:Again, for dumbasses like you, we don't buy into the "Greatest Team Evarrr" Hype. We don't need to be that. We just need to be better than any SEC team that lines up against us. In this millenium, we sure as hell have been.

Oh and you too.

o Bama was #1 only in preseason. They were #3 or #4 every other week.
How does this contradict what I posted?
While it's not a direct contradiction, it does provide an accurate context. My guess is that practically everyone would have thought Bama was ranked higher given your post.
quote:
This goes in the category of a quibble. How did ND and MSU become ranked ahead of an undefeated Bama?
Voters thought they were better. In spite of all the protestations to the contrary, the supposed "rule" that a team doesn't drop in the rankings unless they lose does not exist. While it's not an every poll occurrence it happens quite frequently, especially early in the year (e.g. see GA this year).
quote:Well this is a pretty stupid question. I repeat: the tie was between the teams they thought were better than #3. The real question is how can you choose between two teams that tied. My guess is that the game was played at MSU, so they gave it to the visitors, who were ranked #1 going into the game.
The bigger question is how could the AP vote a team who played for a tie as NC? Bama was the only unbeaten and untied team in '66.
quote:
Actually no, but I'm glad you brought it up. In '64, Bama was undefeated in the regular season and won a NC but lost in the bowl game. The AP decided to change the rules in '65, but after #1 (MSU) and #2(Ark) both lost in their bowl games, #4 Bama beat #3 Nebraska to win another NC. Mysteriously, AP changed their rules again in '66 where Bama went undefeated, beat the shite out of Nebraska, but wasn't voted #1.
Why was the AP changing the rules?
As you state in 66 they voted before the bowls. I don't know why they were changing the rules, but I don't think it was a conspiracy against Bama. Perhaps there were two equally dominant factions that had different beliefs. Maybe the decision bounced around until a stable majority was reached.

don't forget McFadden played with a broken toe...not saying they would've won but you see how they progressed as the season moved along with him heatlhy. so can we put this arguement to rest?
the point is USC played ONE SEC team those years then moved on to their weak conference schedule. so now SC fan beats his chest claiming 4-0 three of which were blow outs. the truth is, if USC had to play, lets say this years UGA schedule, you'd lose 2-3 games even with THAT team.

Unfortunately you're right. However pounding your chest about going 4-0 against Arkansas & Auburn over a four year period is pretty fricking weak.

its amazing that arky beat the 2 balled national champs last year, why cry and say that beating arky and auburn is weak dont they always play yall close or even beat yall. im just saying the last 4 games against sec teams usc has beat them pretty badly. and i do agree mcfadden was hurt but felix jones played he was no slouch.

First of all do you know how to use the "quote" button?
Secondly, my point once again is USC played ONE SEC team a year over a four year period. That's not the same as playing eight of them in one year like your SC-brothern makes it out to be

ha ha ha , it doesnt matter keep crying, and go clean les miles jock strap, maybe usc will play a sec school , and like always run the score up and prove a point , but i forgot if that does happen , the sec nation will just lay out there 1 million excuses of who will beat them.

Don't fool yourself. Kerbstreit is already campaigning USC b/c the chance of two unbeaten teams meeting in the MNC is about zero. USC lost early. He is also buying into the the "athlete" hype of the Condoms. I think when it is said and done we will see a one loss USC against a one-loss Texas in a rematch from '04!

Easily our worst team over the last 5 years though. And we did win in the end.
