Again, if I'm paying for a gourmet meal, I'm choosing more than just the restaurant, or even the chef. It's a silly metaphor.

ETA: Even using his own comparison, Bill Parcells was also a shitty shopper and recipe maker (i.e., GM). He was a good cook (i.e., coach). There is a big difference between a chef and a line cook.

Lol. Just to let you in on a secret, this post wasn’t about cooking or Bill Parcells. Let me simplify it. Kelly was hired to turn around a football program in free fall and he was hired because it was believed he could do that. His resume says he can. He makes the decisions on which coaches he wants to retain and hire. He and the other coaches he hires begin where they are and formulate the plan on how to proceed. If all the critics know so much about what should be done, send out your impressive resumes and wait to get the word on an interview.
