Why do you hate capitalism?

It’s going to be the end of what we grew up enjoying about college football. It’s going to simply be a corporate NFL farm league with players flocking to the highest bidder.

Like this is gonna get completely out of hand. Go take a look at whats happening at Texas

Next thing you know, Bama players will all be driving Dodge Chargers.

Why do you hate college football as we know it, or once knew it

How is this any different than what it is currently except the money is out in the open?
Not sure if you have noticed but the richest schools already get the best players.

how exactly will this change the entire dynamic of college football?
the transfer portal changes college football far more than the NIL FWIW

The PORTAL is the killer.

I don't care as long as they bring this back
Posted on 12/7/21 at 11:17 am to jrctiger84
My question is how many kids that contribute nothing are going to get paid and for how long? Seems like a massive waste of money at a point.

The money was always there and Texas still sucks. The only difference is it can be public now.

Exactly. So players are now getting paid out in the open instead of just under the table.

Catch me up to speed on what’s going on at UT.

I am truly amazed at the level of complete lack of awareness of fans of this program that care enough to read and post on this forum and their ignorance as it relates to player compensation
The going rate of being an SEC starter hasn't really changed in years
Tax liabilities and benefits have

You're incredibly naive if you think recruits weren't bought before NIL. All this did was remove the curtain, it was always the worst kept secret anyway. Texas has had highly rated recruiting classes for a while and look what that's done for them. I don't understand all the doom and gloom reactions to this.

Incorrect, and Texas is a great example. The players at Texas over the last two decades have been very average compared to most top 40 programs and Texas has more money than any school in the country. That money clearly did not help them over the last two decades; but it's about to start helping now that NIL is out in the open.
Like it or hate it, NIL is changing the landscape of college athletics.
